A Finished Space

If you have ever gone through a move you know how exciting it is to get that first space done and CUTE.  It gets so tiring looking at brown boxes that you know are holding all your pretties and once they are unpacked you just have a mess!  I have moved a lot in my life so you would think that I would have it DOWN! HA!!! I think the more you move the less organized you get at it.  It starts off good but when you get down to the last 10 or so boxes its throw it in, label it “Rando,” tape it up and toss it in the car.  A move is tiring and not to mention a move and renovation (that you’re doing) together is just a crazy concept… but we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and it has all been well worth it.  It may sound small but outside of the bathroom being done the first area I focused on was a small one.  I knew I needed one space done for some inspiration so I started really small finishing the little corner by our front door in front of our" make it work" stairway.  Here is the space unfinished.

I knew I wanted a mirror to make the area bigger, capture a lot of different angles in the home, and who doesn’t always wish there was a mirror by the door for one last look to make sure you look spot on!  I went on a hunt for some neat, one of a kind items at some local antique malls and was not disappointed.  I had already had my eye on this mirror! It was a neat shape, was already painted with a finished I loved, and bonus! was one of the cheapest I had found.  Another score was this printer drawer. My mom had one when I was a child so to find one of my own was very neat and I love that the handle is still on it a lot of times you see them and they are smaller with no handles.

And  Below is the finished space.  This amazing bench was a find out of my step-grandmas barn.  When I find things we always ask if it’s ok if I take them to my house.  Her response is, “You can borrow them but I don’t want you to have them until I’m gone.” she's too cute…  It really is literally the perfect fit.

Add a candle an amazing embroidered sign from Teresa our Sweet P who blows Rachel and I out of the water on making cute things!!! and Kirby’s old work boots as vases and this boring small space is now an inviting area that is the first thing I see coming down the stairs and the last thing  a guest will see as they leave. I am so excited to see other spaces come together just as this one did.  Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week, we will be here finishing up our KITCHEN!!!

  Stay Sweet,
