A Table Fit for a Feast!

It is almost here… that day where all the family comes together to watch some football…. OH and stuff ourselves full of  wonderfully prepared food! Now let’s get to the part that design or host enthusiast like!!! TABLESCAPING!!!! With the urge to put out Christmas already so strong I needed to be reminded I have much to be thankful for before decking the halls! So I decided to focus my efforts on a table fit for a feast.  When tablescaping you don’t have to have just one focal point such as a center piece… as you can see I have many little areas that draw your attention with the largest in the center.

I know what you are thinking, where is all that food going to go??? Let’s all be honest here, by time all the family is at the table with their plates and drinks is there really that much room for a full bird on there?!?!?! Not in our family, so form a line kiddos because we have chosen the pretties over the bird.

Make sure when choosing your items you pay attention to height as you don’t want things to be so tall that you can’t see your family on the other side. But if that’s your strategy because it’s one of those days and you just can’t take another story from you know who (we all have them in our families) then by all means throw up a tree in the middle. :P
Find items that fit your style and choose some that may seem unconventional for a table, like a book or these wooden spindles, chances are they will add the perfect little touch.
Now on to all of the fine china! If you have beautiful china and silverware bring it out to see the light but if that’s not an option don’t be afraid to mix and match your dinning sets. This was one of my favorite parts about this year’s table. I was very blessed to get this classic white set for my wedding, I’d been gifted these adorable blue dishes several Christmas’s ago from my grandma, and the gold rimmed dishes where my great grandmas.  Play around with the layers and colors until it feels right or until you run out of that set (because I’m a clumsy one). This touch will add another level of contrast to your table.

But most importantly whether you burn the turkey, your pie falls in, or your tablescaping includes china de Solo (because we don’t want to do dishes until Christmas) don’t forget to be thankful for all the many things we have been blessed with.  A Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers, followers, encourages, and friends we are truly thankful for each one of you!
