Shop Target for Your Look

Tip 1:

Choose an inviting color scheme. Neutrals are always a great choice. Like this white bed spread. It gives a clean and crisp inviting look.

Tip 2:

Add a cute tray with some magazines, soaps, or snacks for your guest when they come to stay.

Tip 3:

Provide your guest with the essentials, including your wi-fi password. This will save you both time in exchanging the password multiple times and make them feel welcome to use it.

Tip 4:

Using thrifted furniture or multi functional furniture is a great money saver. This cart works great for a side table and can easily be moved around for other uses.

DIY Fresh Christmas Wreaths

Gahh don't you love the fresh Chrismtas wreaths and garland you see out when your shopping this time of year. Problem is they are a little too expensive for me to replace every year. But for about $5.00 a wreath you can make your own!

What You Need

  1. A Cheap Plain Wreath
  2. Limb Trimmers
  3. Clippings from your EverGreen Trees
  4. Pastic Tub
  5. Ribbon or your own finishings

Prep Work

  1. Take your plastic tub and fill it with water.
  2. Soak your trimmings in the water for 24 hours. (This will allow your wreaths to last longer and look fresh longer.)
  3. After they have soaked take them out and let them dry.
  4. You can take an extra step and grab a wilt proof spray from your local nursery. (This will coat your needles and lock in the moisture.)

Making the Wreath

  1. Start by cutting smaller pieces of your trimmings.
  2. Strart in the top middle and work your way to the lower middle.
  3. Take your clippings and lay them point down to the middle.
  4. Use your Wreath Limbs to wrap around  keeping your fresh pieces in place.
  5. Continue this untill you get to the lower middle.
  6. After you have made it to the middle work from the top right and work your way back down to the middle.
  7. Add a bow or any other finishings you desire.

Russian Olive Bushes... If you have a fence line or some land you know these can take over fast! This week while mowing I knew I had to take care of this!

Picture
I have to admit that I like the look of these bushes when they are tiny and are not heading the warning of TAKEOVER. The color and shape of the leaves are pretty perfect. So, Obviously I had to DIY.

What You Will Need

  1. Garden Clippers
  2. Russian Olive Clippings
  3. Twig Wreath
  4. Fresh Flowers

Getting Started

After you have clipped your branches from the bush you will need to gather you twig wreath and keep your clippers handy. Then just start snipping branches off and tucking them behind the twigs.  You will want to keep the clippings small and group them. This will allow them to be held by the twigs and light weight enough where you don't have to use any type of ties for your branches.
