![]() Happy Sunday to you all! We are planning on starting a new Sunday routine at SweetPs. We will post a dessert recipe along with some inspiration for your upcoming week! I mean come on, routines that involve dessert are the best kinds of routines… Are you a routine kind of person? Morning routines…bedtime rituals…holiday traditions…? It seems that sometimes we go through the motions without even realizing what we are doing. I guess I took my routines for granted…until I got married. I realized very quickly that I could set the clock by Mr. Cody Pauls’ routines. Example…Going to bed: Check the doors. Get a glass of water. Brush teeth. Floss. Gargle. Pee. Blow nose. Bed. Sometimes he can be 89% asleep and still manage to do all of those things quickly and successfully. So what does this have to do with dessert, you ask? Well, I was fortunate enough to be blessed into a family that also has strong routines and traditions. Every Sunday we are invited over to his parents or grandparents for lunch. We get to spend time together talking, eating, and catching up on our week with one another. I’ve never lived particularly close to any of my immediate family so this time spent together is a true blessing to me. So being the creature of habit that my lovely husband is, while everyone is clearing plates from our meal, here comes the inevitable question that he never fails to ask…“so what’s the dessert situation look like today?” Every Sunday. Never fails. So every Sunday, Carol or Teresa will chuckle and head to the kitchen to bring out their latest sweet concoction. And let me tell ya, they never disappoint. One of my favorites is today’s recipe! Chocolate Éclair Pie! ![]() No Bake Chocolate Éclair Pie Base – 1 box honey graham crackers 2 – 3 oz. packages instant French vanilla pudding 3 cups milk 1 – 8 oz. package Cool Whip Chocolate icing – 2 square unsweetened chocolate 6 tablespoons margarine 2 tablespoons white corn syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 ½ cups powdered sugar 3 tablespoons milk Melt chocolate and margarine together over low heat. Remove from burner and add corn syrup, vanilla, powdered sugar and milk, and whisk until thoroughly combined. Set aside to cool. Combine pudding mix with milk. When pudding mix is dissolved, fold in Cool Whip. Place a layer of graham crackers on the bottom of a 9x13 pan and add half the pudding mixture. Follow with another layer of graham crackers and the other half of the pudding mixture. Top dessert with final layer of graham crackers and pour on chocolate icing. Let refrigerate at least one hour before serving. Try the dessert out if you get a chance and let us know what you think! We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend, whatever your 4th of July traditions may have included. Maybe as we head into the upcoming week we can all take a step back to appreciate the routines and "ins-&-outs" of each passing day! Oh, and don't forget that today is the last day to get 10% off all Sweet P's purchases at our Etsy store with the promo code FREEDOM4.
